TLT celebrated the anniversary of the birth of Jaak Joala
Tallinna Linnatranspordi AS, in cooperation with the Jaak Joala Fanclub, invited all admirers of Jaak Joala’s life work to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the birth of the legend on Friday, 26 June with a ride full of music on the tram Jaak.
According to Deniss Boroditš, the chairman of the management board of TLT, in addition to ensuring convenient and safe public transport in the capital, it is also important for the company to support cultural and community communication. “We have named 12 KT-6 trams after notable musicians and, with that in mind, we celebrate the important music anniversaries of Estonian culture together with the public. Thus, we have given public transport a new meaning that supports culture and collective consciousness, which is by no means insignificant in promoting the use of urban transport,” explained Boroditš.
On 26 June at 5 p.m., the tram Jaak departed from the track next to Luigetiik in Kadriorg, inside the tram the students of Georg Ots Tallinn Music College Marta Lotta Kukk, Johan-Kristjan Aimla, Markus Nurmsaar and Mattias Tirmaste performed the hit songs of Jaak Joala. The representatives of the Jaak Joala Fanclub also took part in the ride.
At the tram stops, everyone had the opportunity to join the group celebrating the jubilee and spend a lovely afternoon filled with music on the Kadriorg-Tondi-Kadriorg route. The tram Jaak and the musicians also made a second round on the Kadriorg-Tondi-Kadriorg route, leaving Kadriorg at 5.45 p.m.
